hey

I make things
because I saw a reason to

I am Sponge. Usually the thing did not exist and I wanted it, or it did exist and did not work the way I needed, so I built the one that did. Sometimes it is a problem I keep watching people run into. And sometimes nobody asked for it at all, because there was no reason to think it could exist yet.

There is a real terminal over there. It answers. Press / to jump to it.

how I go about it

Fewer moving parts

notes.md

Good code is lazy code. Not careless, lazy: the whole job is finding the way that takes less work than the way before it, and then never doing the old way again.

So I want to understand the whole thing. The server, the schema, the deploy, the parts nobody ever sees. It is slower at the start and a lot calmer later, and calmer later is the entire point.

This site is the example. No framework, nothing to install, and it still works with JavaScript switched off. It was faster to build that way than to argue with a toolchain about it.

now.txt

right now studying, freelancing, and looking for work.

building my own language, and the compiler that has to agree with it.

this site rebuilding it, mostly for the excuse to.

say hi happy to talk

more where that came from

Enjoy what you see, check out my other projects

Everything I can point at right now. A lot of what I build is private or not mine to show, so this list is shorter than the work behind it, and it grows.
